The Mental Health Respite Program provides assistance and support specifically for carers of people with a mental illness, an intellectual disability or autism. The MHRP is an Australian Government initiative providing a range of flexible respite options for people who look after a family member, friend or neighbour who needs regular and sustained care to manage their daily life, due to mental illness or intellectual disability, but are unable to access other government funded respite programs.
