South East NSW Region and Community Drug Action Teams
Information and contact details for the South East NSW Region and Community Drug Action Teams.
OverviewThe Drugs and Community Acton Strategy (DCAS) South East region covers the area from the Upper Lachlan and Young Shires in the north, Yass Valley and the Snowy Mountains in the west, Eurobodalla and Bega Valley Shires to the east, and reaches south to the Victorian border. Overall, the region covers fourteen Local Government Areas. There are currently five CDATs operating in the South East Region including Goulburn, Young, Yass, Bega Valley and the Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Committee (ADAAC) which is based in the Bega Valley Shire. The CDATs in this region are focused on increasing the awareness of the impact of drugs and alcohol in their communities, prevention and early intervention strategies for young people as well as supporting local Aboriginal communities. The Drugs and Community Action Strategy Senior Project Manager works with communities in their region to identify drug-related concerns and help improve the way everyone responds to them. As part of this work, they will help local people to establish Community Drug Action Teams.
