Overview

The Drugs and Community Acton Strategy (DCAS) Illawarra region covers the Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee Local Government Areas. The region stretches over 8,485 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 405,000 people.

There are currently five CDATS operating in the Illawarra Region including Wingecarribee, Wollongong, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven and the Illawarra Regional CDAT. The main focus of the CDATs in this region is to increase the awareness of the impact of drugs and alcohol in their communities, family drug support and promoting a holistic approach to drugs and alcohol by working in partnerships.
