Overview

The Drugs and Community Action Strategy (DCAS) Central Coast Region covers 1, 854 square kilometres. It stretches along the Pacific Ocean from the Hawkesbury River in the south to Lake Macquarie in the north and west to the Dooralong and Yarramalong Valleys. The Region includes the local government areas of Gosford and Wyong. Residential growth has resulted in the Central Coast being one of the fastest growing regions in Australia.

There are currently six Community Drug Action Teams located in the Central Coast Region. The Community Drug Action Teams are actively involved in improving awareness about drug use and working with organisations and community members to take action on drug-related concerns. The Community Drug Action Teams have undertaken a diverse range of projects and act as a resource for information about local drug issues and trends.
